Weight Loss

Contrary to what I used to believe when I was trapped in my “I’m chubby” mindset, the body needs good quality fat to thrive. Low fat diets are ok for short-term cleansing to clear congestion but over a long period they can do more harm than good. The body needs fats to lubricate, vitalize and balance our organs, minds and hormones too… literally.

Weight issues cannot be healed completely until you accept your body unconditionally. A large component of body balance is to regain self-esteem and body acceptance that you’ve lost when you entered adolescence.

If your weight control is a concern for you I would encourage you to use the 5 Steps outlined below. If you would like a personalized solution, a nutritional assessment and personalized wellness plan will teach you the tools to regain a vibrant health.

Here are my 5 steps to a Better Weight Control Mindset:

  1. Try to befriend your body just as it is, and list five things you like about your body right now.
  2. Perfect your posture, stand tall, and walk with grace. Dress to play up your best features.
  3. Continue to take charge of your own health. Get in the habit of scanning your body once a day, paying close attention to where you might feel pain or tension. Long before illness develops, your body often sends you warning signals. Paying attention to them will help you to maintain a high energy level as well as prevent a bigger health crisis.
  4. Do not deprive yourself. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits, vegetable and whole grains for lifetime protection from all sorts of chronic disease. These foods will help keep your weight in balance too.
  5. Everyone gets overwhelmed from time to time. Being stressed can come from mental, physical, emotional and even nutritional stress. When your body and soul become depleted, you need rest, along with emotional and spiritual substance to get back on an even keel. Make time for sleep. Spend quality time with friends and so one. Whatever works for you is fine; just make it a habit. You are worth it.
