Protein requirements are the same for vegetarian or vegan with greater emphasis on combining grains, beans, nuts and seeds together when eating to ensure your getting complete proteins. Some foods such as quinoa, hemp seeds and soy (fermented sources are best) are complete proteins. The above foods are good sources of protein to keep a body in balance. However, If the body is ill or needs growth the best protein will come from nutrient dense fish, fowl or animal meat. Most vegetarians eat eggs and fish which is plenty of protein to keep a body healthy and to support healing in the body. I strongly support most sources of protein in the diet especially with thyroid/adrenal issues with my clients. Sounds like there is another blog in the making. Cheers.
